Hamid Mir is a big name in Pakistan Journalism. He is well known as security expert, war correspondent, news anchor, and an author. He also hosts a political talk show namely as Capital Talk on Geo TV which is a very popular show. He is very straightforward and brave Journalist and does not care to criticize even military leadership. Due to this, he was remained banned during Musharraf�s Govt and Zardari administration in 2007 & 2008 respectively. In the begging of his career, he worked as a journalist with a number of mainstream Pakistani newspapers. He is not only a famous anchor at GEO but also known as columnist as he writes columns for Urdu as well English newspapers, both national and international. He has often exposed many corruption scandals related to famous political personalities in his columns. Professional Life as Journalist During the journalist career, Mir has got opportunity for interviewing with Osama bin Laden after the September 11 attacks due to which he became internationally known. He has also interviewed with various world famous leaders such as John Kerry, Tony Blair, Hillary Clinton, Nelson Mandela, Colin Powell, and Shimon Peres. Recently, he has also interviewed with famous actor Shah Rukh Khan. Mir is very devoted to his profession and well aware the current issues and latest happening inside or outside the country. He was awarded with civil award Hilal-i-Imtiaz due to his professional loyalty and patriotism. In 2016, he was awarded Free Press Award in the �Most Resilient Journalist Award� category. In 2017, he was given the lifetime achievement award by Zafarullah Khan Jamali for being a famous news anchor. Background Mir opened his eyes in a literary and journalistic family as his father, Waris Mir was also a renowned columnist for daily Jang and a critics of military dictator General Zia ul Haq. Earlier, he got his Master degree in mass communications from the University of Punjab in 1989. After the tragic death of his father, he entered the field of journalism and soon he became renowned journalist.
